This post covers some of the Holloway Consulting Group’s stadium and sporting facility projects and disputes.
U.C. BOULDER, FOLSOM FIELD STADIUM EXPANSION
Holloway was retained by the masonry contractor to assist with the preparation of a construction contract claim for lost labor and equipment productivity due to poor general contractor planning, scheduling, sequencing and job coordination.
LSU Stadium Expansion
LSU’s stadium expansion was underway when Hurricanes Katrina and Rita hit the area in 2005. However, these storms were far from the only major issues that arose on the job. The GC also complained about other construction issues in their Request For Equitable Adjustment:
As a result, Holloway Consulting was retained by the Architect’s defense counsel to:
- Analyze and rebut issues raised in the General Contractor’s Request For Equitable Adjustment
- Perform analysis of the General Contractor’s non-excusable performance problems
- Perform construction schedule delay analysis and schedule acceleration analysis
- Perform an analysis of the General Contractor’s damages claims.
RUTGERS’ UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL STADIUM UPGRADE AND EXPANSION
Many design and defects were identified after the completion of this stadium project, including those relating to Fence Posts and Handrails, Hollow-core Slab Welding Repairs, Painting of Structural Steel, Soil Stabilization/Retaining Wall, concrete masonry unit walls, Seat Brackets and Bolting, and Structural Steel Column Splices.
As a result, the University filed law suits against all parties involved. Holloway was retained by counsel for the Project and Construction Manager to provide consulting and expert services in the ensuing litigation. Holloway was asked to investigate and analyze the Project, with particular emphasis on issuing opinions on whether or nor our client’s performance met the Project Management Standards of Care and Contractor Standards of Care.
INVESCO FIELD AT MILE HIGH, DENVER
Holloway was hired by the mason on the stadium to assess the approved and unapproved contract change orders, out of sequence work and schedule delays incurred on the job, and determine a course action to pursue with the General Contractor/Construction Manager. All issues were resolved to our client’s satisfaction.
